Materials needed to grow Rocket Aragula

Soil: Well-drained organic soil (loose) or enriched potting mixture (free from pest and disease)

pH: The ideal pH of the plant is 5.5 to 7

Planting container size: A good drainage 14 to 16 inch diameter and 12-16 deep inches ideal.




Where do I grow Rocket Aragula at home?

Temperature: The ideal temperature range from 18-26 C

Sunlight: The sun light requirement more than 6 hrs

Climate: It is a cool-season crop. It commonly grows in cool and moist conditions.

Type of plant: Leafy vegetable (Annual)




Starting my Rocket Aragula plant.

Season: Best season for growing in winter (Jan, Oct, Nov, and Dec)

Propagation: Propagated by seeds

Planting: The normal spacing between plant to plant 15cm to 15cm.

Planting depth: 2-3cm depth then cover the seeds



Caring for my Rocket Aragula plant.

Water: Watering once a day. Avoid the over water and rainy days.

Nutrient: Apply well decomposed plant and animal waste manures and also bone meal or blood meals and liquid fertilizers (seaweed extract or bio enzymes).

Harvest time: The is ready for harvest after 35-40 days of seed sowing.

Edible part: Leaves ( avoid over maturation)

Plant life span: Up to 3 months





Plant protection for my Rocket Aragula

Major Pest


Aphids, Flea beetles, white fly, and mustard sawfly


Management :

Organic methods to control Neem oil spray 2-5ml per/liter.

Spray the insecticide Imidacloprid 70 % WG 0.5 g / lit or 1-1.5 ml/ lit or azadirachtin 1.0% EC 3ml/ lit or Dimethoate 1g per liter of water.


Major diseases


Downy mildew

Spraying with Metalaxyl 1 g or Metalaxyl + Mancozeb 1g / liter of water

Damping-off or Root rot

  • Bordeaux mixture 0.4% @ (3 g of copper sulfate + 3g gm of lime in 1 liter of water) or Copper oxychloride @ 0.2% (2 gm in 1 liter of water) is to be applied with a rose can to a bed of 10 sq.m area 2 weeks after sowing.

  • Two to three spray drenchings of beds with 0.2% Metalaxyl commencing three weeks after seed sowing (2 g of Metalaxyl in 1 liter of water).

  • This has to be repeated once in 4 days under normal weather conditions and once in 2 days under wet and cloudy conditions. In case of heavy rain, the application has to be repeated.

Alternaria blight

Control to spray Mancozeb 2 g/ lit of water.

White rust

To control the white rust application of copper oxychloride 2g/ lit or Mancozeb g/ lit of water.



Plant care and maintenance
  • Apply regular organic nourishment for the plants

  • Weekly once neem spray to reduce the pest and diseases.

  • Thinning (remove overcrowded unhealthy leaves & plants)

  • Remove the older and unhealthy affected leaves and branches of plants and its give regular air circulation into the all the branches of plants its help full for disease-free plant
