Materials needed to grow Broccoli .

Soil : Well drained organic loam soil or enriched potting mixture (free from pest and disease)

pH : The ideal pH of plant is 5.5.0 to 6.5

Planting container size: A good drainage 14 to 16 inch diameter and 16-18 deep inches ideal.




Where do I grow Broccoli at home?

Temperature: The ideal temperature range from 15 to 20 C

Sunlight: The light requirement is more than 6 hrs of direct sunlight.

Climate: It is a cool season crop in India commonly growing in cool weather conditions.

Type of plant: Biennial type



Starting my Broccoli plant.

Season: Best season for grow in winter Jan, Aug, Nov and Dec)

Propagation: The cabbage is propagated by Seeds.

Planting: The normal spacing between plant to plant 20cm - 30cm

Planting depth: 2.5-3cm depth then cover the seeds



Caring for my Broccoli plant.

Water: Watering once a day. Twice in a day (Spring). Avoid the waterlogging condition.

Nutrient: Apply well decomposed plant and animal waste manures and also bone meal or blood meals and also liquid fertilizers (Seaweed extract, humic acid and Bioenzymes).

Harvest time: The broccoli is ready for harvest 90-100 days after the germination

Edible part: Curd or tender flower

Plant life span : up to 5 month

Plant care and maintenance
  • Apply regular organic nourishment for the plants

  • Weekly once neem spray to reduce the pest and diseases.

  • Plants require little water when necessary and avoid over watering.
